Whenever we gather, whether it’s for Sunday services, friendship time, or any other group activities or ministries we attend, we want to know we’re entering a space that is safe and is governed by God’s law…to love one another. What would it be like if we could attend any one of these gatherings knowing who we are and what we say will be respected, even if no one else agrees with us?
This is where a Behavioral Covenant comes in. It provides us with guidelines, not rules, on how to communicate effectively with each other without judgment or unresolvable conflict. Yes, we will, and do, have conflict, which is necessary for good relationships. In the next few weeks and months, we will be talking about this in both large groups and small groups. And the Covenant will be created by all of us, not just a few. Everyone will have an opportunity to contribute to the creation of this beloved promise.
The individuals on this Team will play a crucial role in guiding the discussions and ensuring that everyone’s voice is heard and respected.
