UCC member churches are independent, with no official denominational hierarchy; we are in mutual, willing covenant with each other through regional associations and conferences. This means that authority lies within local churches to structure church life.
At FCUCC, our congregation meets at least twice a year, usually in November and January, to approve budget, elect leaders, and review the work and ministry of the church. We have created an Executive Board to run the daily operations of the church – worship life, program ministries, administrative services, and other church functions.
The Executive Board is a mix of church officers, committee chairs, trustees, deacons, and at-large members from the congregation. The senior pastor and the associate pastor serve as ex-officio, non-voting members. The board meets once a month; its meetings are open to any and all members who want to attend.
