Visual Arts

At FCUCC, we welcome all who are interested in art in its many forms! The Arts Commission is responsible for incorporating creativity and the visual arts into church life. This includes everything from beautifying the sanctuary for weekly worship to coordinating monthly art gallery exhibits.

The commission meets in the choir room on the third Sunday of each month after worship; you do not have to have formal training in the arts to be a part of this group.

OPEN ART DAY
Let the beauty we love be what we do. There are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground.    RUMI
Do you yearn to create in the company of others, just for fun? Or maybe you are a professional artist who gets a bit lonely in your work. We gather the first Wednesday of each month to boost creative energy-working individually in community.  Come for the whole day or for any space of time between 8:00 and 5:00.  We meet in the Fellowship Hall (or substitute room). Your life is your art. Come, make a collage or write a calligraphic grocery list while basking in the calm of a supportive group. Questions? Call Carol Duin (254-4068), Besty Coogler (225-5871) or Maria Fire (253-5589).  Next gathering is Sept. 1.

FCUCC Art Gallery

Our gallery is a public space that hosts monthly art shows. We host at least two congregational shows per year and invite artists from the community at large to exhibit. We ask that ten percent (10%) of any item sold be donated to the FCUCC Arts Commission to further our ministry. Please contact Gary Mitchell if you are interested in showing your work in the gallery
