Peace & Justice
At FCUCC, we believe that working for peace and justice is one of the primary ways we live out our faith. We follow in the way of Jesus, who welcomed the outcast and stood up against oppressive systems. It is not uncommon for our pastors to address justice issues from the pulpit or for congregation members to be involved in social movements.

Channel of GraceOur ministries educate, motivate, and empower us to respond in the spirit of Christ to the needs of our neighbors near and far. The Christian Action Committee guides us in our financial and physical support of local, national, and global agencies in their mission and ministries. The committee also leads us in our justice efforts -- everything from letter-writing campaigns to public speaking on behalf of those with no health insurance.

Some of the efforts we currently support are:

  • Room in the Inn -- a traveling women's shelter
  • Channel of Grace -- a weekly outdoor breakfast for the homeless
  • CROP Walk -- an event to eliminate hunger
  • Alternative Gift Market -- selling fairly traded goods for various ministries
  • Life O' Mike -- health care for the uninsured
  • LGBT ceremonies -- blessing & marriage services
  • New Year's Day Open House for All -- assistance for the homeless
  • Immigration reform -- local and national issues

Our overall financial support goes to seven areas of emphasis: children/youth/elderly, health, environment, housing/shelter, peace and justice, racial reconciliation, and UCC national. Donate to FCUCC today!
