Christian Action Team
This team works to connect the congregation with opportunities to work for peace and justice.
Opportunities include:
*Encouraging attendance at rallies for peace, environmental justice, and health care
*Assisting with Room in the Inn, a traveling women's shelter.
*Channel of Grace, feeding the homeless.
*Selling Fair Trade coffee, chocolate, and other products each Sunday after worship.
*The writing of letters and signing of petitions encouraging law makers to vote for justice.
We offer lunch and shelter for Asheville's homeless on News Year Day, a time when the other community services are closed.
Serving breakfast to those in need in Pritchard Park on Sunday mornings
In 2011, The Christian Action will distribute around $17,000.00 on behalf of the members here at FCUCC. Our benevolent giving outside our church walls help the following organizations and causes.
